Sleeping under the Star Quilt

To see a stop-action video of my quilt coming together follow this link: http://www.facebook.com/v/272260712855027 .

My Sleeping Under the Stars Quilt is a probably-larger-than-king-sized machine stiched quilt that has been a work in progress since January. I designed it to look more like a painting than a traditional quilt (I try to avoid doing things by the book unless its the Good Book.)

It is made from log cabin block of 1 inch strips. The fabric is 100% upcycled dress shirts and pants, though you'd never guess it! The backing will be an awesome fuzzy blue blanket that I got for Christmas a few years ago. The whole quilt cost me around $35 and I'll have left over fabric.

Now I have the more technical and not-so-fun part of piecing all the blocks togther, adding pieces to the backng to make it fit the front, either knotting or quilting it together, and binding the edges. Yuck. So if I miss days posting something creative, its probably because I was working on this quilt.
